After making serious noise with its digital and tape release earlier this year, FFD and DJ Platurn are excited to drop the vinyl edition of his all-instrumental album, Through Storm & Grief, available for pre-order before hitting stores October 24th. The vinyl pressing includes an LP-only track, "Feel So High," not available on tape or streaming platforms, and comes in a full-color jacket with archival dust sleeves pressed on a unique 'icy' eco-mix of clear, blues, and white from Pour House Pressing—every copy one-of-a-kind. Platurn shares: "Through Storm & Grief was inspired by my roots more than anything, a quote from Leadbelly who I listened to incessantly as a kid, a nod to my upbringing and all that's unfolded through adulthood. This is the music that means more to me than most—the funk intact, the drums and bass abound, but that melody has to take you somewhere meaningful and inspiring. My aim was to bring it back to that golden age with a current twist, and with the aid of some incredible friends, I think it came together in just such a manner."
