Electro heavyweight Cellmod returns to form with commentary on social divide. Cellmod returns to dark heavy electro on Structured Decay, maxi-single featuring MC blak, a Kay-S remix, and b-side The Inevitable Pause. Tampa, FL-based Cellmod returns to form while still stretching his artistic abilities with the adventurous electro-glitch heater Structured Decay. A pointed commentary on the decay of balance in society, the song is highlighted by the artist's own restrained vocal performance and anchored by grimy bass and wailing synthwork. Rhythmic variation throughout the song's structure reveals subtle experimentation while maintaining it's bounding momentum. The Faultline Version features additional vocals from blak and sets the energy to high, simultaneously keeping things looser using a spacey Rhodes line as the cherry on top. Kay-S's mix takes menacing and moody to another level, mangling the vocals for atmospherics while adding conspicuous drum & bass flourishes. Finally, on b-side The Inevitable Pause, Cellmod demonstrates his broken beat production prowess using a slightly off-step shuffle that puts the listener at unease. The cinematic production features deliciously rich analog synths, a foreboding melody, and ominous, whispered vocals. The divide has always been the real threat. The engineered, structured decay of balance, the weaponization of identity, and the loss of self through the adoption of manufactured perspectives. It lives in the quiet moments that sit between distraction, misinformation, and sensationalism. A pattern we've seen many times before. The dismantling of community, expression, freedom to love, and the pursuit of personal happiness. Once you've seen it, you don't have to choose peace, but you can stop feeding the fire. - Cellmod
