Ticket Description
In the late 1960s, saxophonist and producer Clifford Jordan recorded 3 albums that would later be known as The Dolphy Series, released by Charles Tolliver & Stanley Cowell's famed Strata-East Records. That includes saxophonist Charles Brackeen's Rhythm X, featuring the backing band of another modern giant, Ornette Coleman. With Don Cherry, Charlie Haden and Ed Blackwell, Brackeen's debut album as a leader stands as a nod to the birth of free jazz and post-bop, spiritual jazz. Featuring audio cut directly from the original analog tapes, mastered by Kevin Gray and pressed on 180-gram vinyl RTI, housed in a deluxe gatefold tip-on package with never-before-seen photos and new liner notes. This edition features a limited edition Strata-East Dolphy Series postcard set.
