Conway Savage remains one of the most singular figures in Australian music - a pianist, songwriter and vocalist whose presence in Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds from 1990 to 2017 helped define the emotional and sonic language of the band across three decades. Named after his song from the 1993 debut EP, Too Dark To See is the first-ever anthology of Savage's solo and collaborative work - 24 tracks tracing a remarkable arc from the intimate and elegiac to the wry, unguarded and quietly transcendent. From folk reinterpretations like 'Fair and Tender Ladies' and '1000 Days' to the piano-led expansiveness of 'The Cross' and 'These Are The Waves,' the anthology honors Savage not only as a Bad Seed but as a deeply influential songwriter in his own right.
