'How I Do It (They Wonder)' - A masterclass in less is more, and a serious DJ tool. Full of groove - slow it down and it will light the touchpaper in a house set - speed it up and you've got techno weaponry. Forget gate-keeping, this will make you feel like you just found a 2004 techno white label from the likes of Grain or Ben Sims.'I Desire' - House music that I reckon Deetron would be proud of... Blissed out machine funk, whispered vocals, slick jazzy chords and dubbed out techno stabs are all grounded by Yesca's impeccable, loopy drum programming. The best tunes always end too soon.'Domination' - The ever rising bass, err, dominates this track and this track will dominate on many a dancefloor, but Yesca's knack for dubbed out swinging synth lines has to get a shout out here too. He turns what would be melodic elements into what feels like part of the percussion. Double Threat. Hands Up and Heads Down business.'Paint on Walls' - It would be a tough call to say Yesca's saved the best til last with the EP's eponymous track given what's come before, but Paint On Walls works all the highlights from the rest of the EP into a Latin techno/house infused anthem. Skittering percussion, a hint of Detroit goodness and a deep, deep rolling bassline and THAT vocal. In every way hopeful yet resistant, and that is what techno is all about
