Dark Horse Records is proud to release Joe Strummer 003: The 101’ers Years, bringing together studio and live recordings from Joe Strummer’s pre-Clash band, The 101’ers. The 101’ers sound mixed rock & roll, R&B and rockabilly, just as punk was beginning to emerge. After the Sex Pistols opened for the band in 1976, Strummer was drawn to the new punk movement and soon left to join The Clash. The 101’ers brief run captures an important moment just before British punk changed everything. The 2LP edition features the complete studio recordings on the first LP, with highlights from the basement tapes and demos on the second.
