Soul Latino, released in 1969 on Discos Musart, is a rare gem of Mexican funk, featuring the Mexico City–born Agüeros Patiño brothers – Salvador (drums), Félix (percussion, drums), José Luis (guitar), and Roberto (bass) – better known as Rabbits & Carrots. The group’s sole album is now regarded as an important piece of Mexican funk history, blending Latin rhythms, jazz, soul, and funk through instrumental interpretations of Jorge Ben’s “País Tropical,” Rufus Thomas’ “Funky Chicken,” Sly & The Family Stone’s “Everyday People,” and Kool & The Gang’s “Los Pelos Tiesos.”

This RSD Black Friday exclusive marks the first vinyl reissue since the album’s original pressing more than five decades ago. Remastered from the original master tapes, this expanded 2LP edition features eight previously non-album tracks and comes housed in a gatefold jacket.
